Housed in the epicenter of Chicago’s Loop and theater business districts, theWit hotel caters to trendy Chicagoans and tourists alike. The property is recognized for its luxurious accommodations, stunning architectural design and award-winning dining and drinking outlets.
OBJECTIVES
Page One Public Relations was hired to create local, regional and national awareness for the hotel, as well as its restaurant and ROOF on theWit.
CHALLENGE
theWit was lauded for its cutting-edge design and award-winning rooftop when it opened in 2009. Five years later, Page One was retained to manage public relations for the property. In the crowded Chicago hotel market, and with several new hotels opening annually, theWit needed to reinvigorate its brand to remain competitive and attract customers.
SOLUTION
Page One leveraged distinct features of the hotel to attract attention. Media were invited to experience the hotel’s stunning rooftop programs at ROOF, including ROOF Runway, Movie Mondays and the hotel’s cutting-edge cocktail scene. When theWit earned a coveted SPE healthy menu certification, Page One hosted a media reception where over 30 reporters experienced the menu.
Page One also worked with Choose Chicago, the destination marketing organization for Chicago, to provide opportunities for international, national and regional media visiting Chicago to experience theWit. Media tours were coordinated to provide interaction directly with the hotel’s executive team.
WINNING RESULTS
Page One worked with the hotel for four years and secured more than 650 local, regional, national and trade stories, providing exposure to the hotel on an ongoing basis.
