SIMEK’S is a rapidly growing consumer packaged goods company. The brand had recently launched in the Chicago market at several retailers including Jewel-Osco, Super Target, Pete’s Fresh Market and Walmart.
OBJECTIVES
Page One Public Relations was retained to launch the SIMEK’S brand in the Chicago market through a mix of traditional media outreach, influencer marketing and partnerships.
CHALLENGE
The challenge was to find an exciting way to promote a new company that focuses on meatballs and lasagna and turn it into something exciting and newsworthy.
SOLUTION
To make a splash in the Chicago market, Page One identified and collaborated with top-tier food social influencers to create a “Pass the Plate” influencer event to be held at Jewel-Osco. Page One planned and executed the event, including negotiating contracts, creating content, and organizing caterers.
WINNING RESULTS
More than 150 people attended the “Pass the Plate” party at Jewel Osco. From a media standpoint, Page One was able to secure TV segments on ABC and CBS local affiliates, WGN-TV and TastyTrade Financial Network to reach an overall audience of 940,869 in the Chicago market. The company was also profiled on Forbes.com, Lux & Concord, and the Local Tourist, among others. The influencer campaign garnered more than 8,000 static ‘likes’.
